Creating Your Unique Style
You see models advertising the latest trends and fashions of clothing. All your friends are raving about the latest styles released by this or that maker. But isn’t it time that you chose your own style, without having to depend on what the fashion world thinks or what your friends are into. Every person should have his or her own style, and you should be no different. You probably already have a fashion sense developing within you that needs to be let out, and this guide will show you how.
1. Stop Caring About Trends
The first thing you have to do is to stop looking at what other people think is cool or trendy, and start thinking about what you like. What you wear isn’t about what others think is “in” or “hip”, it’s your style. Don’t force yourself into the mold that the fashion world and manufacturers are creating. You are unique and you don’t have to wear what everyone else is wearing. No one will think you’re any more stupid if you wear something different instead of wearing what’s currently trending. In fact, people will probably respect you for it.
2. Wear What You Like
You don’t have to choose a style just because it’s in. You should instead choose something because you like it, because it’s comfortable, because it boosts your self-esteem and makes you look how you want to look. These are the only requirements for creating your own fashion. If you want lots of rings, printed silicone wristbands, jewelry, and accessories because those things make you feel pretty, then go ahead and wear them. If you want to just wear a t-shirt and jeans, and make that your style because it’s comfortable and pleasant, then choose that. There are no rules when it comes to choosing your fashion as long as you like it and it’s nice for you.
3. Choose Quality and Affordability
Remember that you don’t have to necessarily break the bank in order to wear clothes every day. There are plenty of ways to keep in style while still being able to save money and cut costs. Buy affordable clothes—unless you’re a runway model you shouldn’t be dressing and spending like one. Choose clothes that will last over clothes that will make you look fabulous.
4. Trial and Error is Okay
Finally, remember that fashions constantly change, as do your preferences. You might love your printed silicone wristbands one day and exchange them the next for jeweled bracelets. Don’t limit yourself and your fashion to past preferences. It’s okay to try something out and then change when you’ve moved on.
